About this place

Arnissa is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Vegoritida, at an altitude of 516 meters. Access requires a 4x4 vehicle - the road is not demanding, but a 4x4 is essential. The site accommodates several teams. The area attracts nature observers. Within a five-kilometer radius, there is a rich fauna and flora - water birds such as the black coot, common cormorant, red-necked grebe, and little grebe, as well as smaller species like the great white heron and common buzzard. Various species of crickets and grasshoppers can also be heard here, including Balkan endemics. Some of the observed species are under international protection. The sky here is almost completely dark - stars are visible to the naked eye. The cell signal is weak, with the nearest base station located about 2.4 kilometers away.
