Wielka Polana rises to an altitude of 788 m above sea level and is part of the mountain ridge that separates the valley of the source streams of Jasienica from the valley of Szeroki Potok. You will hear the songs of birds such as the little bittern, the white-backed woodpecker, or the long-eared owl, and you may also spot rare species that occur in this region. The sky above Wielka Polana is almost completely dark, which is conducive to stargazing.
