Owl Mountain

Owl Mountain

Wild spot Liw, Masovian Voivodeship, Poland Avatar: Krzyzakowy Krzyzakowy

About this place

A meadow by the Liwiec River, a few hundred meters from the provincial road. The river here is shallow, with a hard and sandy bottom, and the water is clear - suitable for swimming. There is a gentle slope to the water, and plenty of space around to set up. There are no buildings or infrastructure, which means tranquility, especially in the morning and evening when birds can be heard - including the marsh nightingale and the meadow marmot. Access: coming from Węgrów, about 500 meters before Sowa Góra, turn left onto a sandy dirt road. The surface is soft and gravelly - you can drive here by car, motorcycle, or off-road vehicle. There are many free spots to choose from along the river. On good weather days, a few people appear here, but everyone keeps a reasonable distance from each other, so there is no feeling of crowding. Cell phone signal is available. The area belongs to Masovia, in the Liw municipality of the Węgrów district - not far from the village of Jarnice.
